On August 5, 2022, the engineer Geiner Alvarado López was sworn in as the new Minister of State, in the Transport and Communications sector, before the President of the Republic, Pedro Castillo Terrones.
The new head of the MTC has served as Minister of Housing, Construction and Sanitation since July 2021. In addition, he has held management positions at the municipal and regional government levels in different districts and provinces of the country.
Alvarado López is a civil engineer, with experience in managing public and private investment projects, infrastructure works and urban development.
