ASEP proposes modification to the National Frequency Band Plan

In response to the national public interest, the need to improve connectivity and access to broadband, especially in unserved areas, considering the development of new technologies and the demands of the telecommunications industry, ASEP proposes an amendment to the National Frequency Band Plan (PNAF) in compliance with the Recommendations of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) on regulatory flexibility and simplification, as well as the proper planning, universal access and affordability of the radio spectrum.

Among other aspects of transcendental interest to the Sector, this proposal includes designating the 6 GHz band (5925 to 7125 MHz) as a “Free Use” or “Unlicensed” Band for indoor use only.

ASEP will receive contributions and suggestions from interested parties until 3:30 pm on October 31, 2024, through the email indicated in its official notice.
