Appointed new Minister of the MTC in Peru

The President of the Republic of Peru, Francisco Sagasti, swore in Eduardo Martín González Chávez as the new Minister of Transportation and Communications.

The new head of the MTC was sworn in yesterday at the Government Palace and replaces Augusto Valqui Malpica in office.

González Chávez has a degree in journalism from the Jaime Bausate y Meza University and a master’s degree in Public Management from the National University of Engineering (UNI). He has extensive experience in the public sector. He has been Chief of Cabinet of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers (PCM), of the Ministry of Transport and Communications (MTC), as well as of the Ministry of Housing, Construction and Sanitation (MVCS). He was also in charge of the Vice Ministry of Transportation between August and October 2020 and has been a member of the Organizing Committee of the Lima 2019 Pan American and Parapan American Games.
